Ahad awards Le Reef contract

Ahad Holdings has awarded the construction contract to build Le Reef, its $100 million real estate venture, to Al Shorooq contracting company.
'We have appointed Al Shorooq after auditing bids from a host of regional construction majors in strict accordance with global benchmarks,' said Ahad Holdings chairman and chief executive officer Hamid Nishat.
'The dynamism and regional expertise of Al Shorooq makes it an ideal partner to develop this landmark project located next to the financial and fashion district of Bahrain, and to deliver the project on schedule while maintaining the highest technical and quality standards.
'We are honoured to be associated with Ahad Holdings to build the prestigious Le Reef Towers,' a spokesman for Al Shorooq said.
'The company will utilise its industry expertise to apply latest construction technology and design ideas for the success of the project.'
Le Reef is located directly by the sea and constitutes two low rise towers of 10-storey each, with 142 residential apartments possessing scenic landscapes and water surroundings the Reef Island.
Le Reef's distinguishing feature is that every apartment has sea or lagoon views.
The semi-furnished one, two and three bedroom apartments possess balconies and are equipped with modern design elements and world class finishing, based on eastern and western themes.
The two exclusive penthouses of 1,000 sq/m each, offer 360 degree sea views.
An elevated swimming pool, wellness centre, coffee lounge and external board-walk will form a part of an array of recreational amenities.
Al Shorooq contracting company is on site with civil work under progress. The project will be launched shortly whereby the freehold apartments will be open for sales.
Other partners appointed by Ahad Holdings to support Le Reef's project team include MSCEB as interior design consultant, Al Jazeera Engineering as civil consultant and Landmark Bahrain as sales and marketing agent.
