Al-Futtaim joins Build Safe UAE

Al-Futtaim Engineering has joined forces with Build Safe UAE to help raise awareness of health, safety and welfare of all construction industry stakeholders in the UAE.
The member’s charter was signed by Dawood Bin Ozair, managing director, Al-Futtaim Engineering and Grahame McCaig, chairperson, Build Safe UAE.
Build Safe UAE is a not-for-profit safety organisation aimed at improving the overall safety and welfare conditions of all construction industry stakeholders through sharing of information between construction companies and contractors in the UAE.
Ozair said: “Build Safe UAE is a tremendous step forward for health, safety and welfare in the construction industry of the UAE and Al-Futtaim Engineering is extremely proud to be part of this initiative. We look forward to participating in the forums and sharing our expertise with charter members so as to trigger wider commitment to more stringent health, safety and welfare standards.”
Al-Futtaim Engineering’s five divisions offer a wide variety of products and services in the construction, commercial and industrial sectors. A multi-disciplinary engineering organisation and member of the Al-Futtaim group, its involvement in numerous large scale projects include scaffolding, elevators, security systems, air conditioning, building products and facilities management.
McCaig said: “This is the beginning of a very long and fruitful association. We are confident Al-Futtaim Engineering with its 30-plus years of experience will contribute immensely to our discussions and help raise awareness and standards of the construction industry.”
Build Safe UAE consists of a number of major (International and Local) developers, contractors, project managers, designers, industry groups and regulators of the UAE construction industry who have agreed to share their ‘Best Practice Safety Information’ in the forms of risk assessments, safe working methods, safety presentations, safety alerts, tool box talks, best practice case studies, etc. – TradeArabia News Service
