Dubai, April 7, 2009
Mizin, the real estate property developer and a member of Tatweer, today (April 7) announced that it was consolidating the construction of all phases of its Remraam community and awarding the contract to Dubai Civil Engineering.
Dubai Civil Engineering (DCE), a leading contracting company, is already responsible for the construction of nearly 50 per cent of the community.
The amalgamation of construction will allow Mizin to leverage efficiencies in different areas including quality, consistency and time management and is driven by recent changes to contractor capacity.
The decision follows an extensive review and consultation process designed to maximise value and deliver a high quality product within the scheduled timeframe.
Ahmad Sharaf, CEO of Tatweer Investments, said: “The amalgamation of the construction contract bears testament to Mizin’s commitment to maximizing value and to delivering a high quality product to stakeholders within the scheduled timeframe.”
“With the ongoing construction work on the Remraam community in progress, the project is set for rapid progression towards its scheduled timeline completion,” he added.
Mizin has confirmed that construction across all phases of the community continues as scheduled, and that the consolidation of construction will facilitate management of the project development schedule.
Nashat Sahawneh, chairman of DCE said: “We are happy with the confidence that Mizin has placed in DCE. The recent change in capacity will allow developers to seek further added value and we are fully committed to complete the project in line with Mizin’s requirements and timeframes.”
Mizin also announced that 65 per cent of the infrastructure works for the 23.5 million sq ft Remraam community has been completed, while excavation works for foundations of 82 per cent of the buildings have also been finished.
In addition, 45 per cent of all buildings have had foundations poured and selected buildings have reached the sixth floor. – TradeArabia News Service
