Dubai, March 17, 2009
The Tiger Woods Dubai, a member of Tatweer Dubai, has signed a new agreement with Desert Landscape, a member of the UAE–based Desert Group, for continued landscaping works at the landmark development.
Desert Landscape has already played an integral role in the development of the project’s 28 hectares on-site turf nursery and 30 hectares tree nursery, providing more than 11,000 trees and 150,000 shrubs to the golf course alone.
The new agreement confirms their commitment to the construction of specific golfing components, such as cart paths, lakes, streams and waterways, subsurface drainage and automated irrigation systems.
To date grassing is complete on two holes and a third is in progress, said a senior official.
Abdulla Al Gurg, project director, The Tiger Woods Dubai, said: 'Desert Landscape is a valued partner and an essential component of the success of the development. Therefore, we are happy to announce this renewed agreement which signals their continued contribution to this ground-breaking project.'
'The hallmark of The Tiger Woods Dubai is our attention to detail, quality, integrity and excellence and I firmly believe that Desert Landscape will continue to meet these standards as we proceed towards our vision of being amongst the most sought after golfing destinations in the world.'
Nasser Talib, CEO, Desert Landscape, said: “We are privileged to be a part of such a unique development and look forward to our continued relationship with The Tiger Woods Dubai. Having already dedicated significant resources in this project, this agreement reinforces our commitment to the project moving forward.”
The Tiger Woods Dubai promises to be a golf experience that epitomizes excellence and meets the highest standards of quality.
The development continues to progress, with the completion of bulk earth works, 2,243 trees planted on the golf course and an additional 6000 in the nursery.
