Jordan sees '$21bn construction investment'
Amman, February 16, 2009
Jordan’s construction sector, which is expected to receive around $21 billion in investments in the next few years, will also boost local demand for project management services, says a consulting firm.
To highlight the need for reliable Project Management (PM) services, Collaboration, Management and Control Solutions (CMCS), a leading provider of project and portfolio management solutions, will be conducting a seminar on 'Empowering Project Driven Businesses' in Amman on February 19.
CMCS is the authorised representative of Oracle Primavera in the Middle East. Most contractors are nowadays using Primavera scheduling tools to address the diverse PM challenges faced by both developers and government, said a company spokesperson.
'The rapid expansion of the construction industry and other project-based businesses throughout Jordan bodes well for the future of PM and our operations in the country,' said Bassam Samman, chief executive and founder, CMCS.
'Our goal is to enhance the level of PM services in the country and thus contribute in our own way to accelerating both domestic and infrastructural growth.'
PM professionals were nonexistent in Jordan as late as 2002; today more than 400 local practitioners offer their expertise, he added.
The CMCS seminar will highlight the latest developments, best practices and emerging technologies in the PM field.
It follows CMCS’ successful entry into the promising Jordanian PM market through the recent establishment of sister company Anchor for Project Management Consultancy (APMC). The new firm offers a comprehensive range of PM software solutions, training and consultancy.-TradeArabia News Service
