Sherwoods in key Abu Dhabi Golf Club deal
Abu Dhabi, December 6, 2008
Sherwoods Independent Property Consultants have signed an agreement to sponsor Abu Dhabi Golf Club, as part of Sherwoods’ strategy to maximise its access to and influence over elite property buyers and investors in the region.
As part of the sponsorship package, the club house will have a full time Sherwoods stand next to the reception area, to enable visitors to the club house pick up the company’s marketing collaterals and other promotional material.
In addition, Paul Preston, manager of Sherwoods Abu Dhabi branch, who is also a professional golfer, will be allowed to participate in the BMW 6-series Medal Rounds.
The sponsorship, which was initiated by Sherwoods' External Communications Department as part of the real estate company's commitment to the Club and Abu Dhabi in general, will also allow Sherwoods to sponsor certain tournaments and events organised by the Abu Dhabi Golf Club.
Moreover, specific information about all of Sherwoods' services will be easily accessible in designated areas; Sherwoods flying banners will be prominently displayed on the fairways during tournaments, while the Sherwoods logo will be in the score cards, cart labels, format sheets and score sheets.
Tournament prizes will likewise be presented by staff members of the Abu Dhabi branch of Sherwoods. The company had previously signed a similar sponsorship agreement with Tower Links Golf Club in Ras Al Khaimah.
"We are proud to enter into another partnership with a premier golf club in the UAE, this time in the capital, where we have an established presence. We are also confident that the timing of this move is perfect, given that golf is recession proof and is a sport that will continue to prosper regardless of the global financial concerns," said Annette Evans, head of external communications, Sherwoods Independent Property Consultants.
"In the UAE, golf has become tremendously popular in recent years, with highly prestigious events like the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship that will be held in January, adding to the appeal."
"Further, with the Abu Dhabi Golf Club on course for a major make over, we can say with assurance that this sponsorship deal will pay rich dividends on the long run," she added.
Evans also pointed out that the fact that Paul Preston will be playing at the next BMW 6-series round will be a unique way to promote Sherwoods on and off the course.
"With Paul taking part, Sherwoods can once again show corporate responsibility by actually participating and being part of what we sponsor. This is a partnership, just like we are partners in property, and we are proud to be partners in an elite sport like golf," Evans commented.
"Moreover, with the ongoing financial crisis, this is the time for us to be accountable and approachable to all concerned, which is why we are investing in such partnerships,” she added.
Aside from the various marketing material displayed at the club house, Abu Dhabi Golf Club will also assign a prominent position for the Sherwoods logo on its website along with a corresponding link.TradeArabia News Service
