Haulotte Group plans ME expansion

Dubai, November 26, 2008

The Haulotte Group, Europe’s biggest supplier of people and material lifting equipment,  is expanding its regional presence with new offices in Libya in 2009 and Algeria in 2010.

Haulotte’s ongoing expansion reflects the unprecedented growth of the construction market across the Middle East and North Africa region and an increasing demand for safe working platforms on construction sites, said an company spokesman.

The company announced the expansion plans at the Big 5 PMV, the region’s premier event for plant, machinery and construction vehicles, to coincide with the first anniversary of Haulotte’s Middle East subsidiary, Haulotte Middle East FZE.

“The Middle East is a key area for the Haulotte Group. Strong relationships have been created with the market here and we are participating in the Big 5 PMV to deepen these relationships and create new business contacts. We have been working in this region for some time now and hope that a higher level of safety requirements will apply to Middle Eastern countries in the near future,” said manager of Haulotte Middle East FZE Arthur Danelian.

Haulotte Middle East FZE is using the five-day event to launch their new telescopic big boom, an aerial working platform with a six metre telescopic jib, an outreach of 23 metres and the capacity to lift rapidly up to 350 kilograms.

Haulotte’s range of aerial work platforms include electric and diesel scissor lifts, telescopic and articulated booms and diesel telescopic handlers. At present, the company delivers approximately 1,000 machines to the Middle East each year.

The Haulotte Group grew rapidly as companies around the world revised their safety procedures and introduced new equipment for people who work at heights. The company has over 2,000 staff and a turnover of $1 billion in 2007, a growth of 24.8 per cent.

In addition to the Middle East, they plan to open offices in Canada in 2009 and their international presence includes five manufacturing plants in Europe and 24 sales subsidiaries throughout five continents, including Dubai.

Organised by Streamline Marketing Group and taking place at the Dubai International Exhibition Centre in Car Park C until Thursday, the Big 5 PMV provides an excellent meeting place for international and local exhibitors to build key business contacts.

“Now in its second year, the Big 5 PMV has attracted over 380 exhibitors from 22 countries, many of which are using the event to enter the Middle East construction market or expand their presence in the region,” said director of Streamline Marketing Group Nick Webb. – TradeArabia News Service
