Dubai, November 5, 2008
Palm Utilities has announced the completion of new district cooling plants that now serve the Atlantis in Palm Jumeirah Crescent and the Jumeirah Lake Towers.
A subsidiary of Istithmar World, Palm Utilities boasts of a growing portfolio of utility facilities that provide fundamental water and cooling services to some of the most important residential and commercial developments in the UAE.
Palm Utilities said the design and construction of three of the six planned district cooling plants in Jumeirah Village South had now commenced.
Initiated by Palm District Cooling (PDC), the Palm Jumeirah Crescent plant delivers 120,000 tonnes of refrigeration (TR) to the Atlantis and to many other distinguished projects on Palm Jumeirah Crescent, while a total of 140,000 TR is being delivered to the Jumeirah Lake Towers projects, said a top company official.
'We will supply Jumeirah Village South projects with a combined 200,000 TR, with a total of 150,000 TR going to the Jumeirah Village South Circle and 50,000 TR for the Jumeirah Village South Triangle,' explained Keith Levers, Palm Utilities CEO.
'Palm Utilities has recently completed district cooling plants that serve the Atlantis in Palm Jumeirah Crescent and the Jumeirah Lake Towers – two of the most prestigious developments in the UAE,' he added.
He said Palm Utilities deploys state-of-the-art technology and techniques to ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction in all its projects.
'We will continue working with leading developers to provide the best utility services to key projects in the UAE and across the region,' Levers remarked.
With the significant growth in demand for world-class utility services, Palm Utilities has embarked on a major expansion program across all domestic and international utility markets.
Palm Utilities has been established to address the region's unique requirements in the distinctly critical areas of district cooling through PDC and waste water treatment through Palm Water, its water utility division.
The company also plans to pursue new core business activities within other utilities, including sustainable energy and environmental waste management.
The company is poised to expand its operations overseas and has initiated talks with potential partners in the Middle East, India and the rest of Asia.-TradeArabia News Service
