Mina Al Fajer names new CEO

Mina Al Fajer Real Estate, developers of the Dh800 million ($217 million) Mina Al Fajer resort in Fujairah, has appointed Hussein Fakih, a management veteran, as its new chief executive officer.

Fakih has occupied senior executive roles in multinational companies in the US, Germany, Japan and the Middle East and counts relationship management, business planning and personel management as his core skills.

With his extensive management experience, Fakih is expected to lead the fast-rising property developer to even greater heights of competitiveness and profitability.

“Hussein will be great addition to the senior management team. He has our full support and we are confident that he will succeed, as he has done many times in the past,” said Ahmad Al Dhaheri, vice president of Mina Al Fajer Real Estate.

Fakih started his career in the construction industry in 1993, working in the field for six years before moving into the automotive industry with General Motors followed by Audi AG as Regional Manager in the Middle East.

Prior to his appointment at Mina Al Fajer, Fakih was director for Ali & Sons Motors Division in Abu Dhabi.

To date, Mina Al Fajer has successfully launched its exclusive, mixed use mountain resort in Fujairah. Inspired by success, the company is targeting more robust growth prospects, and is counting on Fakih’s exceptional background of accomplishments to spur the company forward.

Commenting on his appointment, Fakih said: "This is an exceptional opportunity that was so hard to resist. The idea of creating truly iconic projects and leading the property boom in Fujairah as well as the rest of the region presents enormous professional and personal challenges, which I am eager to embrace."

Fakih is qualified mechanical engineer from the American University of Beirut and a Stratford University graduate with an MBA in management.
