Dubai, June 12, 2008
Septech, a leading Dubai-based innovative water infrastructure and specialised engineering firm, was declared the Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing (MEP) Service Provider of the Year at the inaugural Middle East Facilities Management Awards 2008.
Succeeding over the other highly qualified contenders shortlisted by an A-grade panel of judges, Septech won the award based on their innovative solution to provide both fresh and salt water MEP solutions to internationally renowned mega water theme park project Atlantis on the Palm Jumeirah, the Els Club at Victory Heights and Festival Marina, Dubai Festival City.
Septech’s group projects director Iwan Baxter Hughes picked up the award on behalf of the 12-year-old specialist company that provides an innovative range of products and services across water and wastewater, mobile water services, precast concrete, marina, and the landscape and environment sectors.
“Septech was awarded Atlantis’ supply, installation and commissioning of the salt water Life Support Systems including quarantine and acclimatisation tanks, implemented to reduce the overall stress experienced by aquatic life and to keep the 65,000 marine exhibits within Atlantis’ gigantic Ambassador Lagoon alive,” said CEO of Septech David Heffernan.
Septech also designed and installed the Ernie Els, The Dunes golf course processing 900,000 US gallons of water per day in winter and two million gallons per day in summer. This enabled the course to reduce overall operational costs and reduce the negative impact on environment.
The company’s marine division has also provided several MEP solutions to projects like Festival Marina, Dubai Festival City; Shangri-la’s Barr Al Jissah 100-berth marina for superyachts in Oman and the Qasr Al Alam Royal Palace in Muscat, Oman. – TradeArabia News Service
