Dubai Municipality has begun work on a Dh65 million ($17.7 million) project to construct a multi-storey building for storing cars at the Used Cars complex in Ras Al Khor.
Announcing this at a press conference in Dubai, Hussain Nasser Lootah, acting director general of Dubai Municipality, said that the general projects department at the civic body had finalised designs for the project which was currently in the early stages of the construction.
The project is expected to be completed in May next year, he said.
"At present, there is a shortage of space to store cars in the municipality-owned used cars complex. This project seeks to offer a lasting solution for this problem," observed Lootah.
According to him, the building would include some 1500 parking space that can be used by showroom owners in the complex. It has been designed in a simple architectural design which will allow easy flow of cars and pedestrians, he added.
Dubai Municipality has constructed the Used Cars Complex where nearly 150 used car dealers are gathered conveniently in one place to display the largest and finest selection of used cars.
Customers can inspect and carry out transactions, and avail of the great facilities for technical testing of vehicles, financing, registration and service.
Besides, services are available at the used car showroom complex, which provide people with the chance to sell their vehicles or include them in the auction being held there daily.-TradeArabia News Service
