Thermostone bags deal worth $1.5m
Dubai, February 26, 2008
Emirates Thermostone has been awarded Dh5.7 million ($1.5 million) worth of contracts for supply of autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) construction materials to two premier developments in Dubai - Dubai Marina and Dubai Industrial City (DIC).
Emirates Thermostone is a fully-owned subsidiary of M’Sharie, the private equity arm of Dubai Investments.
The booming demand for construction in the UAE especially in Abu Dhabi and Dubai has allowed Thermostone to become an integral part of a number of prestigious projects there, said an official spokesman.
Thermostone is currently exploring export opportunities that have arisen in the last few months.
“AAC is a precast structural product made with all-natural raw materials, making it a ‘green’ building system. Low energy required in production, low raw material consumption, lightweight characteristics, ease of use in construction, high energy efficiency, better indoor air quality, and recyclability add up to make AAC a very environmentally friendly building material and system, the reason for its unprecedented popularity and growing demand in this region over the past few years,” said general manager, Emirates Thermostone, Ajay Mathur.
'Keeping in view the steady demand for AAC construction material in the region, we decided to construct a second production line in April last year. This latest contract, on the back of other prestigious contracts we’ve been awarded in the past few months is testament to the fact that we have taken the right decision,” he added.
Emirates Thermostone operates one of the largest and most technologically advanced AAC production plants in the Middle East, providing the region’s premier developments with an annual supply of up to 15 million specially designed blocks, slabs and panels.- TradeArabia News Service
