DMCC hands over Almas Tower
Dubai:, January 8, 2008
Dubai Multi Commodities Centre (DMCC) has handed over offices in the Almas Tower to its diamond sector members.
The move is yet another step towards establishing a diamond industry cluster in Dubai, the centre said in a statement.
Located within the upcoming Jumeirah Lakes Towers development, the 65-floor Almas Tower is DMCC’s flagship tower, purpose built to cater to the specific needs of the diamond industry.
DMCC handed over the keys to member companies occupying levels 3-20 of Almas Tower, during a ceremony held today (January 8, 2007) at Monarch Hotel, Dubai. The clients can now complete the individual fit outs of their offices before they move into their new offices.
“The completion of Almas Tower is a significant step towards DMCC’s objective of establishing a dedicated market place, providing industry-specific market infrastructure and full range of facilities for the diamond trade in Dubai. Equipped with hi-tech security systems and secure vaulting facilities, Almas Tower offer an entire range of diamond trade related facilities, and will lay the foundation for a dedicated diamond industry cluster in the region. It will also house Dubai Diamond Exchange, the region’s only diamond exchange,” said DMCC Executive Chairman Ahmed bin Sulayem.
“DMCC is pleased to welcome nearly 100 members who will be occupying levels 3-20. The rest of the floors at Almas Tower will be handed over in phases over the next couple of months. We look forward to seeing Almas Tower develop into a thriving hub of diamond trade as envisioned by DMCC,” he added. – TradeArabia News Service
