Work progresses on Abraj Al Lulu

Manama, August 23, 2007

The BD95 million ($252 million) Abraj Al Lulu project overlooking Bahrain's Pearl Roundabout is more than half complete, its developers said.

Bahrain-based Dadabhai Construction's senior projects manager T S Ramanujam said the project's structural work is due to be completed in the next two months, with only the two final storeys remaining to be built on each of the three towers. The services phase will be completed next, which will include electricity, water and elevators. The construction is expected to be fully completed by August next year.

"We are still on schedule," Ramanujam said.

The Abraj Al Lulu is a residential development consisting of three towers, labelled the Gold Pearl Tower, the Silver Pearl Tower, and the Black Pearl Tower.

"We have not had any problems or accidents and we have been strictly monitoring our standard safety regulations. Everyone here on the site is wearing helmets and other protective gear."

Amenities at Abraj Al Lulu include a swimming pool, tennis courts, landscaped gardens, a barbeque, an Internet cafe, a gym and a health spa which will all be located on the first floor podium.

There will also be a separate set of amenities specifically for Black Pearl Tower residents located on the tower's top floor.

"The project has certainly been an absolute success," Hatem Dadabhai, managing director of Pegasus Realty, Abraj Al Lulu's sales and marketing agent, said.

He said Abraj Al Lulu apartments are approximately 90 per cent sold, with only a few four-bedroom apartments in the Black Pearl Tower remaining. -TradeArabia News Service
