Saudi index plunges to 3-month low

Saudi shares on Saturday closed at the lowest point since March 26, dragged down by losses in the banking and petrochemical sectors.
The all-share lost 0.5 per cent at 6,509 points and the banking sector shed one per cent at 15,380 points. Heavyweight Al Rajhi bank closed 1 percent lower.
Earlier in the day, Saudi index eased 1.2 per cent dragged by losses in the petrochemical and banking sectors.
The petrochemical index dropped 1.7 per cent to 6,637 points while the banking index declined 1.0 per cent to 1,5375 points.
Heavyweight Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (Sabic) slipped 1.5 per cent. The kingdom's benchmark falls to 6,457 points.-Reuters
