Foreigners pick up $603m Dubai stock

Despite the volatile scenario in the UAE stock market, foreign investors picked up shares worth Dh2.215 billion ($603 million), or 41.2 per cent of the total value of stocks traded in the October 5-9 week, said the Dubai Financial Market.

Foreign investors also sold stock worth Dh2.78 billion ($757 million), or 51.8 per cent of the total value of stocks traded last week, for the same period, according to a Gulf News report.

The value of net foreign investment in the market was Dh571.6 million for the same period.

While institutional investors bought stock worth Dh1.54 billion or 28.7 per cent of the total stocks traded, they sold Dh2.195 billion or 40.8 per cent of the total stocks traded for the period.

Net institutional investment in the market hit Dh652.8 million for the period.
