Foreigners buy $234m DFM shares

Dubai Financial Market (DFM) said Dh861 million ($234 million) worth of shares were bought by foreign investors (non-UAE nationals) in the last week of June.
A top official DFM said the shares comprised 24.8 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.
He said the value of shares bought by institutional investors rose to Dh614.9 million in fourth week of June.
'The value of stocks sold by foreign investors during the same period reached Dh1.2 billion, comprising 35 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.
Net foreign investment on the market reached Dh353.7 million during the same period.
'The value of stocks bought by institutional investors reached Dh614.9 million, comprising 17.7 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period.'
The value of stocks sold by institutional investors during the period reached Dh849.8 million, which constitutes 24.5 per cent of the total value of stocks traded during the period, the official noted.
Net institutional investment on the market reached Dh234.9 million during the period, he added. TradeArabia News Service
