Dewa in bill payment deal with Mashreq Bank
DUBAI, August 22, 2017
Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (Dewa) has signed a partnership agreement with Mashreq Bank that allows its customers to pay their Dewa bills in instalments of three or six months, with no interest or extra charges, when using Mashreq Bank credit cards.
“The partnership agreement with Mashreq Bank is part of our efforts to achieve the directives of the wise leadership to encourage customers and provide excellent government services through innovative channels, in cooperation with various public and private sectors, to help make Dubai the smartest and happiest city in the world,” said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of Dewa.
“The Government of Dubai is proactive and creative in meeting the needs of the individual and society. This feature will enhance reliance on the smart payment channels, provided by Dewa, where customers can pay bills using Mashreq Bank’s credit cards at anytime, anywhere, which contributes to saving their time and effort.”
Al Tayer noted that the adoption rate of Dewa’s smart services has reached 76 per cent in the end of the second quarter of 2017. Dewa aims to raise this to 80 per cent during 2017, in addition to reducing the number of visitors to Dewa’s Customer Happiness Centres to 80 per cent, as customers can conduct all their transactions, easily and safely, through Dewa’s smart app, or website, without the need for physical visits.
The new feature allows customers to pay their bills by instalments using Mashreq Bank credit cards, in one step, via Dewa’s website or smart app, and then choosing the instalment plan (3 or 6 months) via Mashreq Bank's online services, Mashreq app, or Mashreq Bank’s customer service centre. – TradeArabia News Service
