EDCH partners with Irish group to launch Wi-Fi hub

DUBAI, November 19, 2016

UAE-based Emirates Data Clearing House (EDCH) has signed a deal with Ireland’s Accuris Networks to launch the first Wrix-Compliant GSM-based Wi-Fi Hub using its state-of-the-art platform in the region.

EDCH is a leading data clearing house and financial settlement services provider in the Middle East and North Africa (Mena) region.

This is the first solution of its kind in GCC and Accuris Networks has previously enabled the same technology with AT&T in North America, Vivo Telefonica in South America, BT in Europe, and China Mobile International in Asia, it said.

The agreement was announced during Enterprise Ireland’s trade mission to Saudi Arabia and the UAE led by Charlie Flanagan TD, Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade.

Since 1994, EDCH has been professionally serving the roaming business of over 60 of the region’s top mobile operators, making it the best-positioned to extend carrier-grade Wi-Fi services for international roaming, national roaming, and domestic offload, said a statement from the company.

There is no other product which enables 360-degree carrier Wi-Fi services for the local and international markets from one modular platform and the solution offers up to 70 per cent CapEx/OpEx savings compared to on-site deployments, it added.

Flanagan said: “Accuris Networks is a great example of an innovative, export-focused Irish company with a world-class product offering. Their success in securing this partnership with EDCH demonstrates the quality of their technology and innovation.”

Their growth shows what ambitious Irish companies willing to invest the time and effort in growing sales can achieve in this exciting region, he stated.

Mohammed Elneel, the vice president of business development, Middle East and Africa (MEA), Accuris Networks, said: "In an age where data demand is sky-rocketing and customers are looking for affordable domestic and international roaming services to stay connected, the EDCH Wi-Fi Hub becomes the region’s gateway for seamless GSM-based Wi-Fi connectivity using SIM credentials, carrier-wholesale rates, and business-as-usual data and financial clearing functions."

“This allows regional operators to extend high quality Wi-Fi services creatively bundled with existing mobile packages for a cost-effective and enhanced user experience across the eco-system,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
