BPW to host high-level panel on women in banking

MANAMA, November 18, 2015

A high-level panel of executives from the financial and banking sector are set to showcase the achievements and support the role of women aspiring to leadership roles within the industry at the Bahrain Business and Professional Women International Federation (BPW), in partnership with FinMark Communications.
 
The discussion, which will take place on November 21, at the Capital Club and to be open for media, is being held in support of a year-long campaign launched by the Supreme Council for Women (SCW) and the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) to mark Bahraini Women's Day and to highlight and promote the achievements of 'Women in the Financial and Banking Sector.'
 
The speakers on the panel will include Dr Huda H Al Maskati, executive director – Corporate Services at the CBB; Hassan Jarrar, chief executive officer of BISB; Dr Khalid Abdulla Taqi, general manager of Eskan Bank; Fatima Abdulla Budhaish, board member of Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) and assistant GM, Credit Risk Department of National Bank of Bahrain (NBB); and Sawsan Abulhassan, CEO of S A Consultancy.
 
Also present at the event will be members of the BPW and an audience comprised of media, young women working in the financial and banking sector and others with related interests to the industry, said a statement.
 
The panelists will discuss the opportunities and obstacles facing women and their career progression in the field and female members of the panel their own stories of challenge and success, it said.
