The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) has opened registration for the Women in Financial and Banking Sector conference to be held on November 30 at the Four Seasons Hotel - Bahrain Bay.

 

The conference will mark the conclusion of a year-long campaign being held as part of the 2015 Bahraini Women’s Day celebrations to showcase and promote the role and achievements of 'Women in the Financial and Banking Sector.'

 

Financial institutions and individuals interested in attending the conference can register online, said a statement. 

 

The organising committee will contact applicants to confirm their registration. Registering at the conference is also open for residents outside Bahrain. 

 

The conference is expected to bring together more than 250 members of the industry including senior members and heads of the kingdom’s top financial institutions, senior women in banking and finance and the next generation of women leaders aiming to climb the corporate ladder. 

 

The conference sessions include a keynote plenary on factors shaping the future of women in finance by Shaikha Hessa bint Khalifa bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the chairperson of Al Salam Bank and executive director of Injaz Bahrain, Dr Mahnaz Safa, the managing director - EMEA Banking at Citi based in London and Randa Sadik, the deputy CEO of Arab Bank. 

 

The event will also facilitate a dialogue on sustainability and competitiveness of women in the industry through a face-to-face interview about leading the transformation with Chanda Kochchar, the managing director and CEO of India's ICICI Bank.
