Low oil prices dropped export revenues

Kuwait Q1 trade surplus down 68pc

KUWAIT, August 16, 2015

Kuwait's foreign trade surplus in the first quarter of 2015 narrowed by 68 per cent from a year ago to KD1.74 billion ($5.74 billion) as low oil prices slashed export revenues, data from the Central Statistical Bureau showed on Sunday.

Exports totalled KD4.069 billion (KD7.539 billion - Q1/2014), while imports amounted to KD2.33 billion (KD2.096 billion -Q1/2014). - Reuters
