Etisalat, NBAD launch mobile POS solution

UAE-based Etisalat, a top telecom group and National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), have partnered to launch a mobile point of sale (mPOS) solution to businesses across the country.
The new Mobile Cashier s will enable business customers to accept credit, debit or prepaid card payments efficiently, and mange cash transactions through their mobile phones, a statement said.

Etisalat deployed Mobile Cashier for the first time at Gitex Technology Week 2014, the region’s most recognised ICT trade event, to support the event as its Smart Experience Partner.
Mobile Cashier service enables merchants to accept payments directly on their mobile phones, securely connected to a card reader via Bluetooth. As well as sending transaction receipt via SMS or email, merchants can print receipts via a portable printer if requested by the customer.
A comprehensive and seamlessly integrated reporting module, which is available in several languages, delivers to the merchants full portfolio of transactional reports ensuring an efficient reconciliation and settlement process.
Alex Thursby, chief executive officer of the National Bank of Abu Dhabi said: “Today customers demand the convenience of being able to make card payments for all their goods and services. Now businesses will be able to address this demand through the “Mobile Cashier” service we are delivering together with Etisalat.”
Mobile Cashier service is particularly well suited to small and medium businesses that face the challenge of deploying the necessary infrastructure to process card payments. It also caters to businesses that operate outside of traditional retail environments, such as fast food and other types of delivery services.
