IBQ promotes key management officials

DOHA, June 11, 2015

International Bank of Qatar (ibq) has announced the promotion of Hassan Al Mulla to head of Retail Banking and Abeer Al Emadi to acting head of Operations.

These senior management appointments strongly underline the Bank’s commitment to promoting Qatari staff to leadership positions, a statement said.

Al Mulla has over 21 years of extensive banking experience and graduated from HSBC College in the UK in Banking and Management before gaining a degree in Accounting from the Association of Accounting Technicians sponsored by PriceWaterhouse.

Al Mulla joined ibq in May 2009 as Head of Islamic Banking and in October 2011 moved to Retail Banking as head of Qatari Business Development.

Al Emadi has been with ibq since 1999. This promotion is a testament to her strong leadership, her vast experience in Operations and her unrelenting commitment to the Bank. In 2011, Abeer won the ‘Leadership’ Award at the Qatari Businesswomen Awards. Abeer is a role model to all ibq employees and she plays an important role as a mentor to many of the Bank’s Qatari employees.

Jabra Ghandour, managing director of ibq said: “We congratulate both Hassan and Abeer on their well- deserved promotions to such senior positions and for their considerable achievements to date at the Bank.  This highlights how at ibq, we recognise the importance of encouraging exceptional local talent to realise the nation’s vision for human capital development.”

Saleh Al Kawari, AGM and head of Human Resources & Governmental Affairs at ibq said: “Our aim at ibq is to ensure that our Qatari employees at every level can enjoy a rewarding long-term career and have the best possible professional opportunities to advance at the Bank. Through our Qatari Development Program, ibq has made a serious commitment to attract, motivate and promote local talent by offering exciting career opportunities and a promising future at ibq.” – TradeArabia News Service
