More than 500 delegates are set to take part in a top forum that will focus on the emerging investment and business opportunities in Al Gharbia, Abu Dhabi’s Western region and the location of the majority of the emirates oil and gas assets.
The third Al Gharbia Development Forum will take place on May 12 at the St Regis Resort and Hotel on Saadiyat Island.
The forum is being organised by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development in partnership with MEED.
It will highlight the region’s investment priorities in petrochemicals, oil and gas, critical infrastructure, transport, housing, mixed use projects including retail, manufacturing, education, healthcare, agriculture and food processing as well as government and community services.
The speakers will include Mohamed Hamad bin Azzan Al Mazrouei, undersecretary of the Ruler’s Representative Court in the Western Region, and representatives of key stakeholders that have supported the Al Gharbia development initiative since it was launched in 2013.
They include government agencies and businesses most heavily involved with major projects in the Western Region.
Edmund O-Sullivan, MEED Events chairman, said: “The Forum aims to stimulate investment that will ultimately contribute to Western Region’s prosperity and economic growth.
