Bahrain’s investment in Egypt total $1.7bn

Bahrain's investments in Egypt amount to $1.7 billion, said a senior government official.

Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed Al Zayani was speaking at a Press conference on the sidelines of the Egypt Economic Development Conference, reported the Gulf Daily News, our sister publication.

He stressed strong long-standing relations bonding Bahrain and Egypt.

He pointed out Bahrain's successful banking presence in Egypt, namely Al Ahli Bank, Al Baraka Bank and Investcorp in addition to other investments in vital sectors including aluminium, petrochemicals and fertilisers He also stressed keenness of both countries to exchange expertise in the fields of media, tourism and organising international sports events, such as Formula One. – TradeArabia News Service
