Strict auditing measures to protect public funds hailed
MANAMA, November 21, 2014
Strict auditing measures to protect public funds in Bahrain represent one of the main pillars of reforms and development programme initiated by His Majesty King Hamad, the Crown Prince said.
These measures have also been aligned with the National Action Charter and complement efforts by the government, said the report in the Gulf Daily News (GDN), our sister publication.
The Crown Prince yesterday met at Gudaibiya Palace Minister of State for Implementation Mohammed Al Mutawa, who presented a report by the committee responsible for following up on the National Audit Court (NAC) report.
He lauded the important role played by executive agencies in implementing effective methodologies to tackle issues of non-compliance raised by the NAC report. He added that these measures also prevent such irregularities from recurring in the future.
He stressed that the NAC reports serve as important indicators, contributing to promoting best practice. He said the mechanisms used to compile the reports are continuously being improved, and stressed that future reports will contribute to a marked decrease in accounting irregularities.
Al Mutawa highlighted the administrative measures that are called for in the NAC report and explained how these recommendations will help avoid irregularities in the future.
The meeting was attended by Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, son of the Crown Prince. - TradeArabia News Service
