Etihad Credit Bureau to back major event
DUBAI, September 23, 2014
Al Etihad Credit Bureau (AECB), the UAE Federal Government Company that provides credit reports on individuals and companies, will be a sponsor of the 9th World Consumer Credit Reporting Conference (WCCRC) 2014.
This global event will be held from October 19 to 21 in Dubai, UAE.
The sponsorship is in line with AECB’s ongoing commitment to adopt the highest international standards in credit reporting and is part of the Bureau’s strategic plan to strengthen the UAE’s global position in this field.
Al Etihad Credit Bureau’s role as sponsor of the global conference, which is being held for the first time in the Middle East, reflects the bureau’s ongoing efforts to enhance communication and the exchange of expertise with peers from different countries in the region and around the world. The conference is designed to provide an interactive platform to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience in the provision of credit reports and information. This will ensure the issuance of high quality and reliable credit information reports, supporting the banking and financial sector in meeting global best practices.
As part of the event, a panel discussion will be held to address GCC members’ experiences in the preparation and issuance of credit reports for individuals and companies, as well as future plans for the development of credit services. Senior executives from Al Etihad Credit Bureau will participate in the panel discussion alongside a number of representatives from various GCC bureaus. The conference is expected to attract 300 participants from North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
Marwan Ahmad Lutfi, CEO of Al Etihad Credit Bureau, said: “The UAE has played a key part in economic development across the Gulf and Arab world and supporting this conference reflects the country’s strong economic and financial position at a regional and global level. Our sponsorship emphasises Al Etihad Credit Bureau’s important role in the country and will support the development of high quality, accurate credit reporting across the UAE.”
Lutfi also highlighted Al Etihad Credit Bureau’s keenness to bring best practices and global experience to the region as well as encourage knowledge and experience sharing. This will play a pivotal role in achieving the Bureau’s goals and strengthening its development and services.
The WCCRC takes place every two years and is organised by the Association of Consumer Credit Information Suppliers (ACCIS) and the Consumer Data Industry Association (CDIA). – TradeArabia News Service
