Focus on ‘Megatrends in Passive Investments’

Investment professionals across the Middle East are set to attend seminars about the current trends in the use of exchange-traded funds (ETFs), ‘smart beta’, liquidity and implementation of segregated accounts.
The ‘Megatrends in Passive Investments’ seminars will take place in Riyadh on August 31, Bahrain on September 1, Kuwait on September 2, Abu Dhabi on September 3, Dubai on September 4 and Doha on September 7, said a statement.
Deutsche Asset and Wealth Management has teamed up with Bloomberg, ETFGI, Morningstar and MSCI to present the series of seminars, it said.
CFA educational credits will be award to those that attend the event, which are free for investment professionals - who must register as places are limited.
The seminars are being supported by Arab International Women’s Forum, Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association (CAIA), CFA societies in the region, International Capital Markets (ICMA) and Union of Investment Companies (UIC).
The topics to be covered include ‘Index exposure and ETFs’; ETF Liquidity, OTC / on-exchange Trading, Lending and Settlement’; ‘Evolution of Indexes, Including Strategic Beta’; ‘Researching and analysing ETFs, including Morningstar’s Taxonomy on “Strategic Beta ETFs”’; ‘Practical Applications of ETF for Asset Managers, including SWFs’; and implementation. - TradeArabia News Service
