The French Business Council of Dubai & Northern Emirates (FBC) said the number of its members has grown 18 per cent, reaching a total of more than 600 members, both French and local companies.
The French Chamber of Commerce in Dubai, which is now the first French business community in the Middle East, aims to expand its business and membership base this year, said a statement.
The main objectives of the FBC is to inform its members of the business community about the new opportunities arising in Dubai, to promote and develop business and commercial relationships between the UAE and France, to provide business support to the its members and to the French exporters in order to help to set up or increase their business in the UAE, it said.
The French companies coming with development projects, seeking partners, or in need of close commercial follow-up or wishing to set up a branch in the UAE can refer to the council.
Claude Valle, president, said: “The French community in the UAE strongly supported Dubai Expo 2020 bid and the French companies-more than 1,000 in the UAE- are now ready to offer their expertise to the organizers to make this event a tremendous success! The FBC is the one stop shop for its members who commit to offering their skills to serve the World Expo, to creating opportunities in both countries and to taking our bilateral economic relationships to new horizons.”
The council is set to host a dinner for around 1,000 guests including official personalities like the French Ambassador, the French Consul, representatives of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and top management of the French companies based in Dubai. The event will take place at the Emirates Golf Club on April 3. - TradeArabia News Service
