The Bahrain chapter of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (BCICAI) is collaborating with the Centre for Banking at BIBF and Sage Software Middle East in organising a key seminar on the financial crisis.

The event will be held from 6pm to 9pm at the Bahrain Conference Centre, Crowne Plaza Hotel today (June 12).

Harvard University visiting professor Dr Sudhakar Raju will speak on the financial crisis, euro debt crisis and Basel III. Even before derivatives, financial booms and busts have occurred in almost every economy, he said.

The seminar will trace the history of modern crises from the South Sea bubble to the current euro crisis.

The second session will be an IT presentation on "Put your Enterprise Resource Planning Systems to Better Use through Customer Relationship Management" by Sage Software Middle East.

The seminar will be preceded by the election of the BCICAI's management committee for the new term beginning this August.

"It will be interesting to catch the thread from the financial crisis to the logical conclusion in the form of an international regulatory framework as Basel III from a renowned Harvard luminary," said BCICAI chairman T D Balraj.-TradeArabia News Service
