SNIC appoints new director

Manama, February 16, 2012

Saudi National Insurance Company (SNIC) chairman Shaikh Hatel Jufalli has announced the appointment of Sameer Al Wazzan as a member of its board of directors.

Al Wazzan is one of the region's recognised veterans in the insurance industry and brings along with him more than 30 years of experience in the field.

He is currently the chief executive of Al Khazna Insurance Company in Abu Dhabi and a board member of both Al Madina Gulf Insurance Company in Oman and Doha Bank Assurance Company in Qatar.

During his years of experience in the insurance sector, he held the position of chief executive of Solidarity Group and general manager at Bahrain Kuwait Insurance Company and National Insurance Company.

He was the chairman of Bahrain Insurance Association from 1986 until 2008.

In 2008, he was named by the Central Bank of Bahrain as the Best Insurance Man of the Middle East.
