NBAD appoints new mergers head

Abu Dhabi, January 23, 2012

The National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD), has appointed a new head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) to work in the bank’s investment banking group (IBG) and expand its advisory activities.

Michael Aissaoui joins NBAD from Société Générale in Paris where he served as head of M&A for the Mena region, a statement from the bank said.

Aissaoui has experience in corporate finance advisory and mergers and acquisitions, including 15 years in cross-border M&A transactions in the Mena region, both on the origination and execution side. He has worked in Paris and London advising Mena and European clients.

Prior to Société Générale, Aissaoui worked with the World Bank in privatisation programmes in the region. He has also worked with Lafarge in its strategy department, handling the company’s Mena mergers and acquisitions operations. He started his career in strategy consulting in KPMG Peat Marwick. – TradeArabia News Service
