Dubai, December 3, 2011
Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB) has announced the opening of its new learning and development centre that will help deliver the industry’s best training programme.
Developed by the human resources department, the unit will support professional growth of employees, and enhance their competency and knowledge transformation by promoting latest banking practices and adoption of best methodologies, said a DIB statement.
It is a key component of DIB's long-term strategy to meet its ambitious corporate objectives, said vice chairman Dr Tariq Humaid Matar Mohammed Al Tayer and CEO Abdulla Al Hamli after officially inaugurating the learning facility.
The centre incorporates high-tech equipments, a computer laboratory, and advanced audio and visual technologies to facilitate the most effective learning methods.
The bank’s first “virtual branch” – a facility that duplicates a real-life branch – will provide an unmatched learning experience by enabling employees to gain first-hand experience in a classroom environment.
“Dubai Islamic Bank’s new Learning & Development Centre represents one of our most significant investments in developing the skills and expertise of our staff,” said Al Hamli.
“With world-class infrastructure, this strategic learning centre will allow our staff to grow professionally in a unique environment," he added.
Obaid Al Shamsi, chief of Human Resources said, “Through its world-class training and development programmes, DIB has firmly established itself as a centre of learning excellence.”
“By providing the right infrastructure and learning tools, we will further improve the skills and knowledge of our staff. Our new centre therefore supports DIB’s long-term growth strategy and vision for the future, reaffirming our commitment to excellence,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
