Egypt sells T-bills worth $1bn as planned

Egypt's central bank said it sold EGP 6 billion ($1.01 billion) in domestic treasury bills on Thursday (CBEY), with yields on its 182-day bills declining.

The bank sold EGP 2.5 billion of 182-day bills, the same amount it asked for, at an average yield of 11.923 per cent, down from 11.95 per cent at last week's auction.

The bank also sold EGP 3.5 billion of 357-day T-bills, the same amount it had offered, at an average yield of 12.513 per cent, up from 12.459 per cent at the last issue on March 1.-Reuters
