Deloitte gets tier one tax ranking in the GCC
Beirut, December 2, 2010
Deloitte Middle East was once again awarded a tier one ranking for its tax services in the GCC countries, according to the recently released International Tax Review’s World Tax 2011 briefings.
The International Tax Review (ITR) is one of the world’s most authoritative publications dedicated to international tax news and issues for corporate tax directors, finance directors, and other senior executives.
“This highly respected industry recognition is a testament to the strength of not only our tax services but of the people that deliver them. We have always strived to ensure our offering fulfils the needs of businesses and delivers to them added value as they face the challenges of an ever evolving regulatory environment,” said Nauman Ahmed, partner in charge for tax at Deloitte Middle East.
Top tier is the highest possible ranking provided to firms that have “the greatest depth of resources, experience, and range of specialisms” and that “are considered the best teams overall for tax advice” in the relevant jurisdiction. Tier rankings are assigned to firms based on phone, email and live interviews with corporate tax directors and advisors conducted by ITR researchers.
For World Tax 2011, 55 jurisdictions were ranked (49 countries and six US regions). Deloitte member firms were ranked tier one or two in 87 per cent of total ranked jurisdictions, an increase on the 86 per cent recorded in World Tax 2010.-TradeArabia News Service
