Credit Agricole names MEA head

Paris, September 21, 2010

Credit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank (CA CIB) has appointed Albert Momdjian as head of coverage and investment banking for the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region effective September 1.

Momdjian will be responsible for consolidating CA CIB’s coverage and investment banking teams in the MEA with the objective of strengthening the global coverage of CA CIB’s clients in the region, namely corporates, financial institutions and sovereign wealth funds.

Gilles de Dumast, deputy general manager of Crédit Agricole CIB and global head of coverage and investment banking, said: “The Middle East and Africa region has a strategic importance, not only for Crédit Agricole CIB but also to the Crédit Agricole group.”

“We rely on Albert and his experience to continue developing our franchise in a region where we have served clients from local branches for more than 50 years,” he added.

Momdjian, who was previously head of Middle East and Africa Investment Banking, joined Crédit Agricole CIB from Crédit Suisse back in 2006 with the objective of developing the bank’s investment banking business in the MEA. – TradeArabia News Service
