RakBank opens new branch in Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, August 1, 2010
National Bank of Ras Al-Khaimah (RAKBANK) has expanded its network in the nation’s capital with the launch of its latest branch in the bustling Corniche area in Abu Dhabi.
The Corniche branch is expected to become one of the RAKBANK’s busiest branches due to its convenient location in the nation’s capital.
The branch will serve customers within the Corniche area, which is home to a sizeable residential community consisting of both UAE nationals and expatriates, offering them a full range of banking services to individuals and businesses.
“The economic boom and the resilience exhibited by the UAE’s capital during the past difficult two years have confirmed Abu Dhabi as a very fertile and promising market,” said Graham Honeybill, RAKBANK general manager.
“The new RAKBANK branch will compliment our existing network in Abu Dhabi and, in time, grow into a substantial customer base.”
RAKBANK said it presently serves customers through 28 branches spread across the UAE, complemented by 24-hour service available through phone banking, online banking, and a Twitter account.
The new branch is part of an Abu Dhabi branch network that includes three other branches located in Mussafah, Khalidiya, and Abu Dhabi Tourist Club.
As part of the Bank’s aggressive plans to expand its reach in the capital, one new branch is scheduled to open this year and three more the following year, bringing the total number by the end of 2011 to eight branches in Abu Dhabi.
“Even with the success of the Bank’s newer facilities like telephone banking and online banking, branches continue to be a key service channel, handling a substantial portion of overall transactions,” said Ian Hodges, RAKBANK Head of Personal Banking.
“For that, we are constantly looking at opportunities to extend our distribution reach in key locations across the UAE,” he added.-TradeArabia News Service
