Dubai Islamic Insurance and Reinsurance (Aman), a major Shari’ah-compliant insurance company, has been awarded the “Best Takaful Operator” for the third year running at a regional insurance awards event in Dubai.

The fifth annual Middle East Insurance Awards (Insurex 2010) was held recently during an event at the Westin Hotel in Dubai.

Hussein Al Meeza, managing director and CEO of Aman, said that Aman was honoured this year based on its continued product innovation and quality, development of business strategies to manoeuvre the economic downturn, and pace of growth in the region.

“The Takaful insurance sector plays a pivotal in the global economy, and in the UAE, the Takaful insurance market is essential to the security of regional investments and promoting economic development in the country,” said Al Meeza.

He added that the Takaful insurance market has grown considerably over recent years and now “has a substantial weight” in the international economic cycle. – TradeArabia News Service
