Oman International Bank profit down 27pc

Oman International Bank has posted a nine-month net profit of RO15.6 million ($40.5 million), down 27 per cent from the same period last year.

Oman International said previously it made RO11.83 million in the first half of 2009, which based on the result posted on the Omani bourse, would put its third quarter net profit at RO3.72 million, according to Reuters calculations.

That is down 37 per cent from RO5.9 million a year ago. Two analysts had forecast third quarter earnings of RO5.84 million and RO5.74 million, according to a Reuters poll.-Reuters
