Al Khaliji approves new chairman

Doha, February 17, 2009

Al Khalij Commercial Bank's board of directors has approved the appointment of Sheikh Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani as chairman, in place of Tariq Al Malki.

Prior to joining Al Khaliji, Sheikh Hamad held a number of prominent positions, including the post of Minister of Economy and Commerce of Qatar, and vice chairman at Qatar National Bank.

'From the creation of our brand to the acquisition of BLC Bank (France), as part of Al Khaliji’s geographical expansion plan, the progress we have made in the last two years and the goals we achieved are showing the market we are strong, secure, and capable of delivering on our promises,' stated Tariq Al Malki.-TradeArabia News Service
