GII to push for excellence

The Gulf Insurance Institute (GII) on Monday opened its new Bahrain headquarters at Amwaj Islands.
The ceremony was attended by GII board member Qassim Fakhro, who said the institute was looking to develop its human capital to build the region's insurance and risk management industry, said a report in our sister publication, the Gulf Daily News.
He said GII has been established as leading centre of excellence which provides learning and sustainable career development and rewards achievements for professionals engaged in conventional and Islamic insurance practices and risk management, as well as for those starting career in this rapidly expanding sector.
"The institute will serve as a regional hub for conventional insurance and Islamic insurance [Takaful] learning as well as ancillary financial services and management studies."
A demonstration of GII's unique e-learning systems, which will be used as an important resource for distance learning, was also held. - TradeArabia News Service
