Barclays names global head of ETF

London, September 8, 2008

Barclays Global Investors, has appointed Deborah Fuhr as global head of Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) Research and Implementation Strategy. 

The company, which opened its new offices in Dubai International Finance Centre last month, has been active in the GCC region since 1998 and currently has assets under management of $28 billion in the Middle East.

Deborah Fuhr, who will also be a managing director, is widely recognised as the leading research analyst covering the ETF market worldwide.  She joins BGI from Morgan Stanley, where she spent the past 11 years focused on the ETF market, according to a statement.

“Deborah has been an industry pioneer in ETF research, and her innovative approach to market and portfolio analysis will help further extend the industry-leading position we have established through BGI's iShares platform,” said Blake Grossman, chief executive officer of BGI.-TradeArabia News Service
