Blom Bank Egypt profit surges 73pc to $20m

Blom Bank Egypt made a net profit of 110.57 million Egyptian pounds ($20.1 million) in 2007, up 73.4 per cent on the previous year, the stock exchange has said.

The stock exchange web site gave a comparative figure of 63.78 million pounds for the bank's profit in 2006. Shares in the bank, which has a market capitalisation of 1.37 billion pounds, last traded at 27.40 pounds, on January 28.-Reuters
