Insurance research contest set

The 27th General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) Conference is holding a regionwide competition to make it more interactive for participants.
It has introduced for the first time an essay competition open to individuals working full-time for any GAIF member company or associate.
The conference is taking place in Bahrain on February 26 to 28, under the patronage of Prime Minister Shaikh Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa,
The conference falls under the theme “Towards A more Integrated Arab Insurance Market'.
Submitted papers (in Arabic) should be original research material, not previously published elsewhere in one of the following topics:
“Applicability of the European Union (EU) insurance regulations to the Arab markets and the modifications needed for adapting them”
or
“Main factors likely to influence the Arab insurance markets in the coming years”.
Closing date for entries is November 30 and exact rules will shortly be released in the Conference website.
The winning essay will receive $10,000, complementary registration and all expenses inclusive trip to Bahrain during the conference.
Moreover, the winner will have the honour to address the GAIF audience with a brief presentation on the winning topic. A runner-up prize of $5,000 will also be provided.
The bi-annual GAIF Conference is expected to draw over 1,000 of the Pan-Arab region's insurance elite; providing a platform for bilateral discussions among the large number of participants.
GAIF is a Pan-Arab body which strives to be the principal supporter of the Arab insurance industry.
Since its inception in 1964, GAIF has served as an organised framework for the collective work of its members, and has produced valuable analytical studies and market guidance.
The Federation's primary purpose is to strengthen Pan-Arab market, and insurance sector, ties, and to coordinate activities across the Arab insurance industry.
Member organisations encompass: Arab insurance and re-insurance companies and organisations; Insurance regulatory bodies; National insurance unions and societies; Non-Arab insurance & re-insurance companies that operate in Arab countries; Arab Insurance Research bodies; Arab Insurance Industry Training Centres & institutions; and Arab organizations involved in Insurance/Re-insurance industry.
