Key forum on alternative investment set

The largest gathering of Islamic professionals involved in alternative asset investing will be held in London on June 25 and 26.
The participants will include fund managers, institutional investors, leading financial institutions and corporate advisors. They will for the first time focus specifically on investing in alternative assets (private equity, real estate and hedge funds).
Leading Shariah scholars and experts from each asset class will discuss the following topics: What it takes to become Shariah compliant; the costs and the mechanics of setting up a Shariah committee; Raising funds from Shariah compliant investors; Sources of capital for Shariah compliant alternative asset funds; and Structuring a Shariah compliant fund.
Keynote speakers include Yousuf Khayat, managing director, Sedco; Khairul Nizam, director AAOIFI; Darawati Hussain, director, CIMB; and Mahmoud Atalla, head of Private Equity HSBC Amanah.
