RJ to suspend flights to Muscat
Amman, November 6, 2012
Royal Jordanian, the flag carrier of the country, has decided to suspend its operations between Amman and Muscat from November 17.
RJ president/CEO Amer Hadidi said that the decision to suspend operations is due to commercial reasons. He pointed out that Royal Jordanian and Oman Air are working on concluding a code share agreement to enable the RJ customers to travel between the two cities under the RJ code.
He added that Oman Air, which operates seven weekly flights en route Muscat-Amman- Muscat, will keep running this service, whereas seats are to be marketed by both airlines according to the impending agreement.
Hadidi said that the mentioned code sharing will be announced later. It reflects the keenness of both carriers to provide the citizens of Jordan and Oman with the best air services, and to offer a direct, regular flight that connects Jordan with the Sultanate, he added.
The agreement is also bound to boost revenues for Oman Air and RJ, Hadidi noted. – TradeArabia News Service
