Abu Dhabi university offers HRM courses

The Institute for Executive Development (IED), a member of Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group, is offering the 'Strategic Human Resources Management' course to help maximise UAE organizations’ human capital.
The Strategic HRM, the first in a series of open courses, is aimed at providing insight into external and internal drivers that influence HR strategy, as well as maximizing a firm’s human capital by developing and retaining employees, said a statement from the institute.
It is being organized by the Abu Dhabi University Knowledge Group from June 27 to 29, and again from October 23 to 25.
The course will take participants beyond HR’s traditional administrative role by providing a strategic approach to managing the human capital of a company that requires making important choices, hand-picking the right people to do a job, and molding them through effective training to fit the nature of the task and the demands of the organization.
Professor Andrew Mayo, a Fellow and program director with the Centre for Management Development at the London Business School, will be the expert facilitator for this course.
Through its open course program IED hopes to improve the effectiveness of business leaders in facing various issues in different sectors by providing professional solutions that improve their impact and influence in their organizations, the statement added.
IED’s open courses are tailor-made to Emirati organizations and are designed to fine-tune the existing skill set of top executives and to establish ways to excel at meeting their company’s objectives, it stated.
Dr Gene Crozier, the IED director said the role of HRM in modern business has widened to ensure that not only does an organization acquire the right people for each job, but it also fulfills its underlying objectives.
A more strategic approach ensures that the individual goals of employees are aligned to the overall goals of the company, he noted.
"IED offers a wide range of the most comprehensive, customized, and relevant courses in leadership and management training for high level executives, in the private and public sector in the UAE," Dr Crozier explained.
It is open to HR directors and vice-presidents, HR professionals aspiring to take up the role of HR director or VP, and CEOs looking to improve the quality of HR in their organization.
IED will also offer open courses in areas such as strategy, leadership, building a high-performance culture, leadership in the healthcare sector, business professional modules, safety risk management and international hospitality management, Dr Crozier said.
The Institute provides a range of short executive programmes, accredited management certificates and diplomas as well as organisational and executive coaching, he added.-TradeArabia News Service
