Ras Al Khaimah has explored opportunities to strengthen tourism cooperation and destination development partnerships in the US following a four-state mission covering Florida, Michigan, Nevada and Utah.
Led by Dr Carel Richter, Advisor, International Relations,
Office of the Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, the delegation engaged with tourism and
hospitality stakeholders, destination leaders and businesses to identify
opportunities for collaboration and knowledge exchange.
In Nevada, the delegation advanced discussions with Wynn
Resorts ahead of the planned September 2027 opening of Wynn Al Marjan Island,
while meetings with Las Vegas Mayor Shelley Berkley and other destination
leaders explored cooperation in tourism, convention infrastructure and a
potential Sister City relationship.
The discussions aimed to identify opportunities to exchange
expertise in destination development and strengthen ties between Ras Al Khaimah
and major US tourism markets.
In Utah, the delegation visited tourism and hospitality
destinations, including Snowbird Resort, Olympic Park and Deer Valley, gaining
insights into large-scale destination development, innovation ecosystems and
public-private partnerships.
The engagements also identified potential areas for future
cooperation and knowledge exchange.
In Nevada, meetings with tourism and economic development
stakeholders also helped establish a pipeline of potential opportunities linked
to hospitality, tourism and destination development.
The mission comes as Ras Al Khaimah continues to strengthen
its international partnerships and develop its tourism offering through
collaboration with global industry players.
Dr Richter said the visit had established new partnerships
and strengthened existing relationships, adding that the priority was to
maintain momentum and translate identified opportunities into lasting
cooperation.
The delegation included representatives from Marjan, RAK
Properties, Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone and other government entities.
Follow-up discussions will focus on advancing potential
partnerships and turning opportunities identified during the mission into
concrete projects and agreements. -TradeArabia News Service
