The Luxury Collection launches new destination-focused expeditions

The Luxury Collection has launched The Luxury Collection Expeditions, expanding its role as “The Destination Authority” beyond hotel stays and into immersive cultural experiences.

The new collection invites travellers to connect more deeply with destinations through their people, traditions, landscapes and local expertise.

With more than 130 hotels and resorts across over 40 countries and territories, The Luxury Collection positions its properties as gateways to cultural discovery.

Expeditions are guided by historians, artisans, chefs, winemakers, conservationists and other specialists, combining privileged access with luxury accommodation and personalised service.

“At The Luxury Collection, we have long believed that a destination reveals itself through its people, rituals, and landscapes, and through the knowledge passed down over time,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection. “Expeditions are a natural expression of that belief, inviting our guests to venture beyond the walls of their hotel and into the living fabric of a place, where expert guidance and cultural context foster a deeper and more personal understanding of a destination.”

The inaugural programme features 10 Expeditions across North America, Europe, Asia and the Caribbean, divided into three categories.

Private Tailored Journeys include multi-day itineraries such as The Imperial Journey through Tokyo, Kyoto and Nara, featuring private cultural experiences including a samurai residence and sushi-making with a fourth-generation master.

The Grand Italia Rally takes guests through Italy behind the wheel of a classic automobile, while The Aegean Odyssey connects Mykonos, Paros and Santorini by helicopter and yacht.

Day Discoveries offer single-day experiences rooted in local traditions.

In Kyoto, Farm to Fermentation explores Japanese preservation techniques, while Desert Icons in Scottsdale combines Sonoran Desert conservation, architecture and cuisine.

In Saudi Arabia, Doors of Diriyah explores Najdi heritage through historic architecture, traditional food and artisan craftsmanship.

Residencies & Collaborations provide hands-on access to specialists.

At Hotel Marqués de Riscal in Rioja Alavesa, guests can participate in grape harvesting and create a bespoke wine blend.

At Salterra in South Caicos, marine scientists and naturalists lead experiences focused on coral restoration, bonefishing, kayaking and stargazing.

The Luxury Collection plans to introduce additional Expeditions this fall, further expanding opportunities for travellers to experience destinations through authentic cultural, culinary, environmental and heritage-led journeys. -TradeArabia News Service
